Tier Levels
The Bitcoin community has long used marine life to describe holder sizes. The metaphor works because:
Our rankings are based on verified on-chain holdings:
Company provides their Bitcoin addresses or xpub
$0.50 micro-transaction proves the company controls the addresses
Sum of all verified addresses determines the tier
Balances are monitored for changes automatically
Note: We only count verified holdings. Companies may hold more Bitcoin than shown if they haven't verified all their addresses.
BTC thresholds keep rankings stable regardless of price volatility. A company holding 100 BTC is always a Dolphin, whether Bitcoin is at $50,000 or $150,000.
Rankings update in real-time as on-chain balances change. When a company receives or sends Bitcoin, their tier may change immediately.
Companies can verify additional addresses to increase their confirmed holdings. Contact us if you believe your company's holdings are underrepresented.
ETF holdings (like IBIT, FBTC) represent custodied Bitcoin. These are tracked separately as the underlying BTC is held by custodians, not the ETF companies themselves.
Add your company to the leaderboard with verified Bitcoin holdings. Every whale started as a shrimp.
