Good catch. Visa/Mastercard customers can dispute a charge for 120 days (some reason codes up to 540 days). We pay you in 5 working days because waiting 120 days would be brutal, and 95%+ of disputes happen in the first 30. If a customer charges back within the dispute window, we may claw back the bounty for that specific invoice — we'll tell you when, why, and which one. Bounties on subsequent invoices and other customers are unaffected.

Your 12-month window starts at the first paid invoice. If they churn within 12 months and re-subscribe, the new subscription gets fresh attribution from whatever cookie is on their browser at that moment.

Whoever's link they clicked most recently before signing up. The visitor's current ?ref= overwrites the cookie on every click. At signup they see the pirate's avatar and name on the form (with a one-click Skip option). Once they sign up, attribution is locked onto their User record — so the original referrer keeps the credit even if the cookie later expires or a different pirate's link sets a new cookie later.

Yes — please follow your local rules (FTC §255, EU equivalents). A simple "disclosure: I get a cut if you claim" is usually enough. We don't enforce it, but it's the right thing to do.

Two cases. If they signed up while the cookie was still alive → attribution is written to their User record and lasts 12 months from signup, regardless of the cookie. If they never signed up → the cookie is gone, no attribution, they're back to being an anonymous visitor. New ?ref= clicks start a fresh cookie.

Honest answer: today, attribution is per-device. Cookies don't follow people across devices. If they click on desktop and sign up on phone without re-clicking your link there, you lose the credit. We're keeping it simple over clever — fingerprinting is privacy-hostile and we'd rather underclaim than over-track. Workaround: ask them to click your link again on the device they'll sign up on.
